MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - MECHANICAL AND CONTROL ASSEMBLY
Summary:
- Organizational Area: Manufacturing - Manufacturing Engineering
- Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing Engineering he/she work within the Industrialization teams to assure the definition of tools, systems, equipment and methods related to Mechanical and Controls Assembly operations in production processes, in order to achieve defined targets (efficiencies, quality, safety, ergonomics, etc). He/she also support the continuous improvement of production processes activities in the Comau Plants.
Duties and Responsabilities:
With focus on Mechanical and Controls Assembly operations in production processes and according to WCM principles:
- Concept layout study, detailed layout deployment, Process FMEA and control plan analysis;
- Definition of Working Cycles (sequences and timing) and standard operation using "fool proof" solutions for improving the quality of manufacturing output;
- Definition of optimized working stations/place (line balancing and flexibility, productivity, quality, safety and ergonomic, not value added activities reduction, etc.);
- Support Logistic on material flow optimization;
- Support Manufacturing BOM definition working closely with Logistics Engineering and the Industrialization Team;
- Prepare technical specifications and address the Purchasing department to select suppliers, supporting the definition of the supply contract
- Co design with the suppliers during the equipment design and build and equipment try out;
- Provide guidelines for utilize DFM/A (Design for Manufacturing - Design for Assembly) and Design-to-Cost during Product Development phases
- Work as focal point for the development and implementation of Best Practices in Manufacturing area of competence (Mechanical and Controls Assembly).
- Support the Autonomous Activities (AM/WO) and Professional Maintenance (PM) pillars at plant level
- Establish the best practices and drive the utilization of standards on all the plants;
- Support the definition of the Product Cost;
- Support CAPEX definition.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years' experience in manufacturing engineering / methods / layout design
- WCM knowledge (WO/AM, PM, LCS, EPM)
- Comau Product/Solutions knowledge
- Proficiency with CAD for 2D design
- Time Analysis (MTM) or other similar work analysis
- Ergonomic knowledge (OCRA/NIOSH)
- Knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis)
- Mobility: on a regional and global base (around 30% of the time)
